To our Trust Beneficiaries and Families and the professionals with whom we work:

We know that there are health and safety concerns surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Information is changing quickly, and so we will be reevaluating regularly to review the most up-to-date information and make changes accordingly. Governor Wolf has extended the call for the shutdown of nonessential businesses across the state; however, because of the nature of the services and supports that Achieva provides, Achieva is not considered a non-essential business. People with disabilities and their families depend on many if not most of Achieva’s services.

The Family Trust views its role serving as corporate trustee for special needs trusts for people with disabilities as essential. Therefore, at this time, we continue to operate and are trying to do so with as much normalcy as possible to meet the vital needs of our trust beneficiaries while at the same time following the recommendations of our public health officials. We want to share with you the specific steps Achieva Family Trust has taken to ensure the safety of our staff, as well as our trust beneficiaries, their families and the professionals with whom we work. The following actions have been taken to help promote the CDC-recommended “social distancing”:

  • Canceling all non-essential meetings or conducting them remotely using conferencing technology
  • Limiting guests and visitors coming into our office
  • Encouraging staff who can work from home to do so while having limited staff on site to facilitate essential functions of our day-to-day operations of the trust.

We want everyone to stay safe during these difficult times. Please try to adhere to the CDC’s recommendations about washing your hands and avoiding large-group gatherings. This is a very fluid situation, and we will communicate any updates and changes as quickly as possible.
